spiny lizard on window

Tumamoc Hill has been called Tucson’s “Acropolis”, but I go with the traditional Native American view of this place. It’s Tucson’s sacred mountain. The desert is a traditional place to go for quiet,? and I’m often the only human up here.

The Desert Lab is so quiet and removed, as if above from the more heavy mental noise of the city. It’s truly a sanctuary. One can truly think and let feelings settle. Meaning: do good work here.

But I encourage visitors.

A few days after I started working up here on Tumamoc Hill. I heard a rustling at my window and looked to see a large Spiny lizard on the screen. He stayed there for a while, changed positions a few times, did some push-ups, then eventually left.
